Tiggy Hancock: Funeral for talented young Carlow horse rider to take place on Monday

The funeral of fifteen-year-old Tiggy Hancock who tragically died following an accident at an equestrian centre will take place tomorrow afternoon.

he teenager, from Corries House, Corries, Bagenalstown, Co. Carlow died on Wednesday afternoon at the Greenogue Equestrian Centre, Rathcoole, Co Dublin.

The champion horse rider was rushed shortly after 2pm by emergency personnel to Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children but was pronounced dead a short time later.

A funeral service will take place in the Church of the Good Shepherd, Lorum at 2pm on Monday 21st June, followed by burial in the adjoining graveyard.

“Deeply regretted by her parents, sisters, uncles & aunts Peter, Richard, Lillias, Serena, Angela, David, Alice, Kate, Tom & Katya, cousins Charlie, Felix, India & Elsa, godparents Linda, Clem, Nick, Andrew & Allegra, Ann Minchin, friends of the equestrian community young & old & her many school friends.

“Tiggy's funeral cortege will leave Kearney's Funeral Home, Fenagh to her home via Ballinree this evening at 8pm. People are welcome to line the route while adhering to guidelines.

“The family would like to thank you for your cooperation and understanding at this very difficult time.”
