Thor Love and Thunder theory changes how you watch MCU movie

Thor: Love and Thunder split opinion when it arrived in cinemas earlier this summer and you might not fancy a rewatch on Disney+, but a new theory might give you a reason to take a second look at the MCU movie.
The movie brought back Thor, Valkyrie and Korg to battle with Gorr the God Butcher, along with the surprise help from Jane Foster who has now become the Mighty Thor since the last time we saw her. It ended up being even bigger and weirder than Thor: Ragnarok, for better or worse depending on your view.
But the theory from Reddit user Subject89P13_ has suggested that there actually might be a narrative reason for the over-the-top nature of the movie – and it's all Korg's fault.
Following a chilling cold open focused on Gorr, the movie opens with Korg telling the story of Thor to a group of children. Korg pops up throughout to narrate the story and the movie returns to Korg's story time with the children at the end.

The theory argues that the result of these bookends is that everything we see in the movie is Korg's version of events, embellished as a result of entertaining the children and just for the sake of it.
While the events might have happened, they might not have exactly played out as we saw them.
If you need some convincing, the theory provides evidence such as the fact that Korg somehow survives after being hit with Zeus's Thunderbolt, spending the rest of the movie just as a face in an absurd turn of events.
There's also the big moment in the finale where Thor gives a group of Asgardian kids the power of Thor to battle Gorr's shadow monsters. As the theory argues, if you were telling a story to a group of children, it's exactly the kind of twist you'd put on a battle that maybe just involved Thor and Mighty Thor battling Gorr.

Perhaps the most compelling bit of evidence though comes in a potential explanation for Stormbreaker being jealous of Mjolnir. It's a very funny recurring gag in the movie, but maybe it comes as a result of Korg not understanding how Stormbreaker works.
"Stormbreaker uses the Bifrost. The Bifrost accesses the tree of Yggdrasil. Yggdrasil is a system of portals connecting 9 planets in 9 different galaxies (aka realms). Thor can only use Stormbreaker to portal directly to any of the 9 realms, not anywhere in the universe," the theory explains.
"This is why they construct the goat boat to travel to Omnipotent City and the Shadow Realm... they're outside the 9 realms. Korg doesn't understand this. He thinks the reason Stormbreaker isn't cooperating to teleport to Omnipotent City is because Stormbreaker is jealous that Mjolnir is back.
"They are able to bifrost directly back to Earth from The Shadow Realm because Earth is Midgard (in the 9 realms)."

And if you need one extra piece of evidence, consider how Korg tells the children about how the Kronians reproduce by holding hands over lava. It's not too different to 'the birds and the bees' talk that we've all been subjected to a variation of in our lives.
Whether viewing Thor: Love and Thunder through this lenses of Korg being an unreliable narrator changes anything for you remains to be seen.
However, it does certainly add a fun meta level to the narrative as Korg is voiced by Taika Waititi, the co-writer and director of the movie. And what is a movie other than a bunch of us gathering round a campfire to hear a tall tale?
