Where is The Kitchen filmed?

A new dystopian thriller, The Kitchen, just dropped on Netflix starring Top Boy's Kane Robinson and here is why you might recognise some of the filming locations.

The film, co-directed by Daniel Kaluuya, is set in a futuristic, dystopian version of London where the residents of the capital's last remaining housing estate have to fight to protect themselves and their home. It's a must watch!

The Barbican, London

Parts of the film, including scenes in Izi's workplace, were filmed in the Barbican. The area, which is home to the Barbican estate, is best known for its Brutalist architecture and has tonnes of greenery used in the backdrop of the film. Plus, you can go visit!

Burlington Arcade, London

For the scene where Staples and the other residents begin looting and rioting in London, they filmed in Burlington Arcade in Piccadilly.

The mid 19th-century shopping arcade is home to tonnes of designer stores as well as independent businesses.

Damiers de Dauphiné, Paris

For exterior shots of the Kitchen estate, they were portrayed by the Damiers de Dauphiné apartment complex in Paris. So, no, it wasn't all CGI!

The stacked buildings were used as a backdrop for all the action and drama happening inside the Kitchen, but were made extra futuristic with some impressive graphics.
