Strictly Come Dancing star Stacey Dooley has shared a rare insight into her relationship with Kevin Clifton and their life at home with daughter Minnie

Stacey Dooley made a candid three-word comment when she reflected on her romance with dancer Kevin Clifton. The 37-year-old TV personality met Kevin while competing on the sixteenth series of Strictly Come Dancing in 2018.

They began a relationship shortly after in 2019. Stacey gave birth to their first child, daughter Minnie, in January last year.

In an unearthed interview with Times Radio the star, who will appear on Have I got News for You tonight, shared a rare glimpse into their home life. When asked about falling in love with her professional partner, Stacey replied: “I know, what a cliche, how cheesy. How cheesy.”

Strictly Come Dancing has sparked several relationships over its two decades. This includes fellow series 16 star Joe Sugg, who has been in a relationship with professional dancer Dianne Buswell since 2018.

Countdown star Rachel Riley met future husband Pasha Kovalev while partnered on the show in 2013. A year later the pair confirmed they were in a relationship, now sharing two daughters together, reports the Express.

Despite winning Strictly and taking home the Glitterball Trophy six years ago, Stacey confessed that she still loves dancing. However, her partner Kevin, 42, is not as eager to dance outside of work.

Stacey added, "I love dancing, I will always say to Kev, I sort of joke that I’m always desperate to work on my frame and have a bit of a go around the kitchen. But unless he’s being paid, he’s less enthused.

"I love dancing, I’ll put the radio on in the morning and have a dance with my little girl. She’s like ‘what on earth is going on’."

Talking about her experiences of motherhood, Stacey shared: "It’s an entirely different way of living now and your priorities completely shift. I see everything through a different lens."

Whilst they usually keep their personal life away from the public eye, the presenter acknowledged the balance, telling The Guardian: "Kev and I have agreed not to go into too much detail about our private lives because you can't really indulge that and then ask for privacy. That's why we've turned down interviews that have offered us tens of thousands of pounds."
