Richie Sambora causes Masked Singer 'split' as he's revealed as ...

Richie Sambora caused a split on The Masked Singer panel before being voted off on Saturday night, as Jonathan Ross was quick to write off Davina McCall's theory that Jacket Potato could be the Bon Jovi legend.

However, in the know fans at home wholeheartedly backing Davina, after a number clue, in what proved to be Jacket Potato's final VT, video sealed the deal.

While Davina and her co-stars were quick to accuse Jacket Potato of 'faking' his American accent and names like Shane Richie and Bradley Walsh were guessed, it didn't take long into the new series for fans of Bon Jovi to become certain that Jacket Potato was Jon's sidekick and rock legend Richie.

There haad been clues to Bon Jovi albums like Slippery When Wet, mention of a 50% clue, which viewers took to be a nod to the 'halfway there' line in Livin' On A Prayer, a jar with offensive names in - You Give Love A Bad Name. And then came the deal clincher, when Jacket Potato played a guitar last weekend.

Jacket Potato was back in action on Saturday night's Masked Singer being second onto the stage after Jellyfish, to cover John Newman's Love Again and, as the panel got to have their say, Davina finally said what fans have been saying for ages, by guessing Richie. Her prediction was quickly laughed off by Jonathan, who said: "He'll be sitting in his private jet, to his private island, reading his private email, he won't be here! It might as well by Keith Richards!"

Defiant in her opinion, Davina replied: "Well that's what I'm going with!" And Bon Jovi fans were swift to confirm her gut feeling, thanks to '4316 degrees centigrade' appearing amongst Jacket Potato's latest clues, which is the equivalent of 7800 degrees Fahrenheit, which just happens to be the name of a Bon Jovi album.

Referencing that, one fan tweeted: "4316 deg C is 7800 def F. That there is Richie Sambora," with another, pinpointing the same detail, posting: "That number clue for jacket potato...that would be about, say 7800 Fahrenheit? Totes Richie Sambora"

And, after he finished bottom of the studio audience vote, Richie was first to get the boot from the semi final, with his unmasking stunning the panel and leaving Jonathan eating his words.
