Miley Cyrus makes Pete Davidson squirm with Kim Kardashian romance jibes

Miley Cyrus made her co-presenter Pete Davidson blush on screen after she poked fun at his new flame Kim Kardashian - before hinting she'd happily swap places with her.

The outspoken Climb singer , 29, appeared on US aired The Tonight Show to promote the New Year's show and burst into song where she mocked Saturday Night Live funnyman Pete's new relationship.

Performing a rendition of Yvonne Fair's It Should Have Been Me, Miley left Pete squirming as she made reference to a date he and Kim had while he visited her in California last month.

She sang: "Pete Davidson, how you gonna do this to me / It should have been me / In that Lamborghini leaving that nice a** restaurant."

Pete appeared to laugh, as she continued: "I wanna watch a movie in Staten Island / It should have been me".

Miley was of course referring to the couple's tour of Pete's hometown of Staten Island in early November after she attended the WSJ Innovator Awards in NYC.

She also cracked a joke at her new co-presenter Pete Davidson 'Big Debut Energy' as she ruffled feathers further.

The 29-year-old singer shared the quip on Instagram with a clever word play as the star notoriously being linked to the term for his BDE (big d**k energy) which shares the same acronym.

Her post reads: "BIG DEBUT ENERGY. Pete & I are official! CO-HOSTS! Watch @fallontonight Our first show together as a pair! We’ll be talking about #MileysNewYearsEveParty hosted by US in Miami!''

Fans will of course recall Pete's BDE, was born from Twitter off the back of a comment pop star his ex Ariana Grande apparently tweeted, refers to a relaxed confidence that people find very attractive.

But Kim appears to have taken the lavish shots as intended and Miley's joke in good jest as she even liked the post.

The glossy images, which were released to tease Miley and Pete's NY party show, picture the pair dressed to impress with Miley rocking a skimpy beaded black gown and Pete in a Giorgio Armani tuxedo.

The pair have matching platinum dyed hair, as Miley mocks up an exaggerated head toss in laughter while holding onto Pete.

Meanwhile Pete and Kim have been getting closer and spent his 28th birthday at the reality TV star's mom's Palm Springs mansion.

The SNL actor and Miley will be hosting a star-studded bash for the NBC event, in Miami on December 31st with the show live from Miami.

But it still remains unclear if she will be hosting from Miami or the classic New York City location.

Last year's show hosted by The Voice Carson Daly, saw Jason Derulo, Kylie Minogue, Gwen Stefani and Sting featuring Shirazee alongside a host of other famous faces.
