Nothing has announced its second smartphone – the Nothing Phone (2).
The successor to the Nothing Phone (1), which was released in summer 2022, the company's new handset features a revamped operating system, Nothing 2.0 and refreshed version of its distinctive Glyph Interface. It will be available in two colourways, white or dark grey.
The Nothing Phone (2) is available to pre-order now ahead of the official on-sale date of July 17. In-person pre-sales will also take place at Nothing's store in Soho, central London tomorrow (July 13) between 5pm and 8pm.

Customers who visit the store will have the opportunity to purchase a "discounted limited launch edition box" with a 12GB RAM/512GB memory version of the Phone (2) completed with 45W fast power adapter, case and the Nothing Ear (Stick) wireless earbuds.
Nothing Phone (2) pricing is as follows:
- 8GB/128GB – £579 (€679)
- 12GB/256GB – £629 (€729)
- 12GB/512GB – £699 (€849)
The Nothing Phone (2)'s upgraded OS, Nothing 2.0, allows users to customise "everything from app labels and grid design to widget size and colour themes", according to the phone's product listing.
Its Glyph Interface lights up to notify you when someone's calling, and also serves as a charging indicator. The Phone (2)'s Glyph Interface has more LED segments than its predecessor, and you can also set a persistent glyph light notification for selected contacts, or particular apps, which will stay on until you've responded.

The phone has a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, which Nothing says provides the Phone (2) with "an 80% improvement on performance over its predecessor".
It has a 50MP dual rear camera and 32MP front camera, accompanied by sensor and software upgrades, plus a 4700 mAh battery and 6.7-inch LTPO OLED display.
The Phone (2) announcement swiftly follows Nothing's debut of its Ear (2) headphones in a black colourway. Priced at £129 and on general sale from July 21, the earphones have up to 36 hours of listening time and a dual connection for device switching.
The firm has also rolled out an Advanced Equaliser in its Nothing X app, allowing those with the Ear (2) or Ear (stick) to customise the sound that comes through their earbuds.
