Motherwell 0 Celtic 4 RECAP as Ange’s side march into the Premier Sports Cup semis

Holders Celtic booked their place in the Premier Sports Cup semi-final as they cruised to victory over Motherwell at Fir Park.

The silverware was Postecoglou's first while in the Celtic Park hotseat and he has taken a step closer to keeping the trophy in Glasgow’s east end after sealing a return to Hampden thanks to a Liel Abada double and goals from Reo Hatate and Kyogo in a frosty Lanarkshire.

Abada opened the scoring for Celtic just before the half-time whistle as he tapped the ball into the net following a neat pass across the six-yard box from Greg Taylor.

Liam Kelly was left alone to fend off the Celtic attack, but would eventually palm the ball to the feet of Abada in the second period. That allowed the striker to bullet the ball into the bottom corner to double the lead.

The Scottish champions were in cruise control and Hatate took a moment to show off as he netted a third. Juranovic’s cross into the six-yard box allow the midfielder to use his quick feet to beat Kelly again.

Abada came close to his hat-trick when his low drive smashed off the post. However, Kyogo was on hand to find the net and score the fourth to round off the scoring.

It means Celtic join Kilmarnock in the semi-final draw which will take place tonight. Aberdeen, Patrick Thistle, Rangers and Dundee will all hope to join them in the hat.
