That 7-0 defeat has surely ended any slim title hopes Erik ten Hag’s side had, but they quickly got back to winning ways in midweek when cruising past Real Betis in the Europa League.
United have looked imperious at home and will be confident of getting the better of Southampton, who remain in the relegation zone despite an upturn in form under Ruben Selles.

Carlos Alcaraz could be fit to start for Southampton, after scans showed he did not suffer any serious injury to his knee when celebrating against Leicester. Mohamed Elyounoussi would likely start should Alcaraz not be risked.
