Global hitmaker Lulu has barely aged a day over the past decade - and now she has spilled some of her major beauty secrets.

The 75-year-old claimed that she takes her appearance seriously and embraces the necessary steps to maintain her youthful glow. The Shout hitmaker confessed that over the years she has placed an emphasis on her hands.

During an interview with You Magazine, she told the publication that “hands can be an instant age giveaway" as she shared her must-have skincare tips.

She explained: “My ritual is to make sure that whatever TLC I give to my face, my hands benefit too. It’s a golden rule for me: whatever I’m applying to my face, I use the ‘leftovers’ on my hands, [including] face cream, masks, facial oil.”

“If there’s so much as a smidgen left over, I smooth it into my hands and especially into my cuticles. I also keep hand cream by the sink – but don’t stop with hand cream. Any rich, emollient oil or cream can do the trick,” she continued.

The musician added that her skincare routine isn't limited to the bathroom. She went on: “If you’re cooking, smooth some of the cooking oil into your hands. Or even butter. It’s the perfect way to keep them soft and smooth as, yes, a baby’s bottom.”

Lulu has had a staggering career, touring all over the globe with her smash hits and collaborating with some of the biggest names in music history - including the likes of Sir Elton John.

Over the years, the musician has arguably become just as famous for her chart-topping hits as she has for her exceptional taste in fashion.

At the height of her career, she ended up marrying top London hair stylist John Freida with the happy couple later welcoming a son together, who has gone on to become a successful actor and director.

She even fronted her own skincare brand Time Bomb Beauty which has been a huge success in the beauty industry. The brand mission boasts: “Time Bomb is a radically simple, remarkably new approach to skincare.

Speaking of her diet Lulu claimed that she has become conscious over the years of what she eats and has since cut out chocolate completely.

The self-confessed chocoholic once loved tucking into a selection of sweet treats but eventually moved on to dark chocolate to help reduce her sugar intake and boost her immune system.

She urged fellow sweet-tooths: “When you crave chocolate, go for the dark stuff. I’ve read that it is packed with antioxidants.”

Lulu said despite being mindful of how she fuels her body she would never deny herself indulging in the snack, and will often order dessert with extra spoons so she can feast with fellow diners.
