Leicester City 0-4 Liverpool reaction to heavy defeat for Foxes

There's just a week to go until City's competitive campaign begins, Coventry the visitors to the King Power Stadium, and so the meeting with Liverpool provides Maresca with a final chance to get his team in shape.

The line-up to take on Jurgen Klopp's Reds could provide clues to the side that Maresca will choose to face the Sky Blues next Sunday, and there are a few contentious positions. City need to decide who will play at centre-back with Conor Coady injured, who will play on the wings with Maresca short on senior options, and who will play up front, with Jamie Vardy recently struggling with a minor issue.

After the cancellation of the Tottenham friendly, City played Thai side Port FC in midweek, winning 1-0. But a match against Liverpool is a huge step up and will be a real test of the tactics and play-style introduced by Maresca in his four weeks at the club.

There should be no concerns over a similar abandonment to last weekend, even if the weather takes a turn for the worst, as there's a retractable roof at the Singapore National Stadium that should ensure the match goes ahead.
