Laurence Fox admits he's finally 'on the other side' after his divorce from wife Billie Piper.

Laurence Fox has admitted it's taken 'a couple of years' to get over his split from wife Billie Piper.

The actor, 41, told Lorraine Kelly on Tuesday that he's finally 'on the other side' following his difficult split from the actress in 2016.

During the interview, Laurence also left Lorraine in hysterics when he admitted he was slightly hungover following 'a few gins,' as he celebrated the release of his new album the previous evening.

Laurence was a guest on the show to chat about his upcoming album A Grief Observed, which he said was inspired by the fallout of his split from Billie three years ago.

When asked how he was doing now the dust had settled on his divorce, the Victoria star said: 'I've been out the other side I think it takes a couple of years and then you're like ''hello! what's your name?''

The actor also said that he's used the new album as a 'diary of sorts' to document life after his divorce, which came after he and Billie had been married for eight years.

Billie and Laurence were involved in a lengthy custody battle over their two sons Winston, 11 and Eugene, seven, which finally ended last year.

'I can't remember the last time I listened to music that made me really sad it's not a force for bad music, it's a diary for me essentially,' he told Lorraine.

Laurence's appearance on the show came the morning after he celebrated the launch of his third album.

The acclaimed actor admitted that he was slightly fragile during the interview after one too many gins the previous evening.

He said: 'There was a party... a few gins? One or two gins. I had a few gins I can really feel the gins today.

'Other than the slight hangover, I'm very good, I've just finished filming hence the hairstyle and the quite nice winter tan.'

The star also went down a storm with viewers over the summer when he appeared on Celebrity Gogglebox alongside his cousin Emilia.

Laurence admitted that he was inundated with tweets from fans left in hysterics by his endless eating on the show.

Speaking about appearing on the show he said: 'It's amazing we got to see each other once a week without having to organise our own diaries, we were always filming at a time of day when there's no food and people kept tweeting me saying ''you're always eating''.'

The previous evening, Laurence reunited with Emilia and brother Jack for the launch of his album at The Groucho Club in London.

Given Laurence's admittance that finding time to see each other is a challenge, Emilia looked thrilled to be reunited with her cousin for the launch of his album.

It proves to be a moreintimate production, with fewer arrangements and stripped back vocals.

The debut album single, The Distance also sees guest female vocalist Izo Fitzroy harmonising alongside Laurence to create in a more traditional folk style.

The title of the album stems from C.S Lewis's collection A Grief Observed, whose own experiences of grief and memories of the past are recovered.
