Jamie Carragher Jokes About Media Bias Against Arsenal
Jamie Carragher created an air of lightheartedness and positivity with Arsenal supporters after he humorously suggested there is a media bias against the club.
Following his initial Tweet regarding Erling Haaland and Marcus Rashford being potential candidates for the PFA Player of the Year award, Gunnerblog pointed out Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard as worthy contenders for the award as well.
To this, Carragher amusingly responded by saying that ‘the media’s bias against Arsenal’ is well-known.
Whilst it isn’t established that Carragher truly believes in the notion that media outlets tend to inaccurately portray Arsenal, many of the club’s fans can relate to the Liverpool legend’s remark.
For months, Arsenal has been a subject of criticism and speculation, particularly with regards to performance on the pitch.
However, on this occasion, Carragher was likely serving as a source of humour to the Emirates faithful.
It must be noted, though, that the ubiquitous nature of media bias is something that isn’t exclusive to Arsenal.
The global media is replete with commentators who often make hasty assessments about their respective clubs – and such ill-informed comments could be detrimental to a team’s reputation.
Although Jamie Carragher’s suggestion is unconfirmed, it provided Arsenal fans with a sense that he has their back, regardless.
