It hasn’t been the most enjoyable of seasons for Jamie Carragher as a Liverpool fan, but that all changed on Sunday at Anfield.
The Reds stalwart was in situ to see his old side pump SEVEN goals past rivals Manchester United, in a drubbing that will go down in Premier League folklore.

Sky Sports were clever enough not to miss the opportunity to have Liverpool’s second highest appearance holder in the commentary booth alongside United legend Gary Neville.
The two were on opposite sides of one of football’s greatest rivalries during their iconic playing careers, but their relationship has clearly thawed into a friendship of sorts after they both went into punditry.
But that was put to the ultimate test at Anfield as Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino ran riot.
Watching Jurgen Klopp’s side leave United’s title hopes in tatters with an extraordinary six second half goals, Carragher was filmed in the gantry loving each one as Neville could only shake his head.
After the fifth goal went in, Klopp made a quadruple substitution, with Anfield on its feet to applaud their new heroes, Nunez and Gakpo.
Neville slumped back in his seat, while Carragher had a hilarious cheeky look to the camera like a scene straight out of The Office.

The former centre back then took a selfie, and Neville was actually kind enough to oblige, but his gutted face has since ended up as Carragher’s profile picture on Twitter.
Two more goals went in, and when Firmino scored, Carragher could even be heard screaming in the background.
The closest he came to pushing it too far was an iconic piece of commentary when Neville said: “You don’t come to Anfield and concede seven goals.”
“Man United just have!” Carragher replied.
“Do one,” Neville simply jibed back.
