ITV Good Morning Britains Ranvir Singh shares health struggle that
Good Morning Britain host Ranvir Singh has shared her health struggle which she says is amplified by her early morning wake-up call for the ITV show

Good Morning Britain's Ranvir Singh has opened up about her private battle with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), a condition made more challenging by her demanding career. She discussed her experience with Holly Rubenstein on The Travel Diaries podcast, revealing she had 'diagnosed herself' with the disorder, which usually strikes in autumn or winter and is characterized by symptoms such as tiredness, trouble concentrating, sleep or appetite changes, and body aches.

Ranvir explained: "I get Seasonal Affective Disorder so I find it really difficult to be in this house when nights draw in because everything is so dark."

Following the revelation of her struggles, Ranvir mentioned her partner's proactive efforts, stating: "My partner had to get me a light therapy lamp a few years ago for Christmas because I didn't know what was wrong with me."

She continued: "It doesn't help with sleep, circadian rhythm and if you have SAD, which is self-diagnosed but I'm pretty sure I have it. Because you get up in the middle of the night, get into dark car then go into the studio and it's bright light but not natural light then you come out and the first thing you want to do is go to sleep but the last thing you're meant to do is close eyes between 9-11am - you need to get as much natural light as possible to set your body... but it's really hard to do."

She also shared her morning routine, revealing that after leaving the GMB set, she tries to "do emails and put in a few meetings", but admitted: "You never shake off the feeling of permanent jet lag. It's a permanent sense of pushing through a fog. Everything feels trickier and eventually you think that's your personality.", reports Gloucestershire Live.

Furthermore, Ranvir expressed feelings of guilt for working the early morning shift "every day of her son's life", which is why she cherishes her holidays with him so much.
