Live Meta outage sees Facebook Instagram and WhatsApp down
A huge spike in 'Meta down' searches started this evening

A number of Meta-run apps are currently down, with thousands of users left offline. A huge spike in searches on Downdetector shows thousands of people reporting an issue with Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Threads.

The social media apps are reportedly not working due to a widespread Meta outage. Facebook outages were first reported at about 6pm today reached more than 100,000 complaints of an issue.

Instagram currently has around 10,000 complaints. WhatsApp, also owned by Meta, saw numerous reported disruptions around the same time.
