Holly Willoughby admitted she was hesitant to get personal in her latest tell-all autobiography, out of fear of being ‘judged’ by the public.

On Thursday’s episode of The One Show, presented by Gethin Jones and Alex Scott, the 40-year-old This Morning presenter opened up about her worries of putting herself out there, while promoting her new book Reflections.

When asked why she felt the need to share her personal story now, Holly said: ‘I live in the public eye, there’s a lot of me out there, probably boring most people, but there’s definitely been pieces of me that I haven’t been ready to share yet.

‘Up until now I’ve probably been terrified of the reception of being brave enough to write this all down and put myself out there over [the] fear of being judged in some way, and it actually doesn’t matter, because it had to happen and I feel good about it.’

Holly, who is known for co-presenting ITV’s This Morning alongside Phillip Schofield, took time off earlier in the year to write her new memoir.

Sharing details of the book, the daytime host said: ‘Writing is such a personal process and between these pages you will find many little pieces of me.

‘The book is called Reflections and is essentially thoughts and musings from me on inner and outer beauty.’

The mum-of-three continued: ‘We live in a world where so much is about how we present ourselves on the outside and there is fun to be had here but true beauty comes from within.

‘There is an alignment that needs to happen and finding that balance hasn’t always felt so easy.’

Holly also reflects on the ways we navigate difficult situations as a society, and how we treat ourselves.

The star will uncover highly topical and emotional issues, such as body image, burnout and control, and she hopes this will encourage meaningful conversations.

The One Show airs weekdays at 7pm on BBC One.
