When will Fortnite servers be back up?

Fortnite servers were still undergoing scheduled maintenance for the version 29.00 update as of 7 a.m. EST Friday. DownDetector has had 229 reports of Fortnite outages since about 5 a.m., and the number is trending upward. The upgrade should be complete by 8 a.m. EST.

When does Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 start?

Once the upgrades are complete, Fortnite users should be able to launch into Chapter 5 Season 2: Myths & Mortals.

Epic Games says in the chapter, Pandora’s Box has been opened on the Fortnite Battle Royale Island, bringing Olympus to the battlefield. Olympian legends — including Hades and the thunder god Zeus — now rule the Island in otherworldly rage. To make matters worse, they’ve brought their powers and weapons with them. Use their mythological means against them.

Fortnite averaged about 230 million monthly users between January and February 2024, according to Gameleap. The game had its biggest single day in November, according to Fortune, with 44.7 million players in one day.
