Here are Alasdair's thoughts on that first half

It's been a scrappy encounter so far with plenty of 50-50s around the pitch but little in the way of quality.

The best chances of the half fell to Kane with one effort cleared off the line by Keane and he headed a Perisic cross wide not long after.

It's also been a tactical game. Spurs are methodically trying to bring Everton out of their shape by playing the ball out short from the back with Romero and Lenglet standing on either end of Lloris' six-yard box for the goalkeeper to pass to.

It's brought mixed results with the ball then lost with a loose ball into the midfield on some occasions and on others it has opened up the home side for a swift move upfield for the visitors.

Kulusevski looks the most likely to make something happen for Spurs with his turns and runs while Son continues to struggle to make his presence felt.

Stellini will be happy enough with his defence as they have repelled much of what Everton have thrown at them so far and most of all they have matched Everton's battling on the park.

Spurs just need to find more quality in the second half.
