Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool will be aiming for a third consecutive Premier League victory when they face Frank Lampard’s Everton in the 241st Merseyside derby on Saturday

Liverpool and Everton rekindle their rivalry for the Merseyside derby when they go head-to-head in the Premier League on Saturday, with both sides needing three points at opposite ends of the table.

The Reds are aiming for their third straight victory following wins over Bournemouth and most recently Newcastle United in midweek in their last two fixtures, while another three points, as well as bragging rights, is the main priority once again this weekend.

The Toffees, however, will be looking to cause an upset and secure just their second victory in this fixture since 2010, while they stretched their unbeaten run to three matches with a third consecutive 1-1 draw of the season against Leeds United on Tuesday.

When is Everton vs Liverpool?

Everton vs Liverpool will kick-off at 12:30pm on Saturday, September 3 at Goodison Park.

The last meeting between these two sides came back in April, when the Reds ran out 2-0 winners against their visitors at Anfield in a Premier League affair.

Following a goalless first half, Andy Robertson broke the deadlock for the hosts after 62 minutes, before super-sub Divock Origi doubled their advantage and secured all three points with a 85th minute strike.

Team news

Toffees manager Frank Lampard has seen an improvement in his side over recent weeks following three successive draws, although his side are still searching for their first win of the season. Due to midweek commitments, though, rotation could be expected for this game.

However, Lampard will remain without six injured players in Mason Holgate (knee), Abdoulaye Doucoure (thigh), Dominic Calvert-Lewin (knee), Yerry Mina (ankle), Ben Godfrey (fibula) and Andros Townsend (knee), while Andre Gomes has departed, but new signings Neal Maupay, James Garner and Idrissa Gueye are all in line to make their debuts.
