Storm Darragh: Everton vs Liverpool postponed as Merseyside ...

The Merseyside derby at Goodison Park, set to be the final one held at the venue, has been delayed due to Storm Darragh's severe impact on the UK sporting calendar. Extreme winds have led to Met Office warnings, and the postponement was announced by Everton on social media: "Today's Merseyside derby at Goodison Park has been postponed due to adverse weather conditions."
Both Everton and Liverpool had previously released a joint statement on Friday night advising supporters to exercise caution when travelling, though they had hoped the game would proceed.
However, worsening conditions led to the inevitable deferral. Similarly affected, Aintree racecourse has also postponed their Saturday racing event as the storm caused damage to the track.
The inclement weather has taken a toll across the sports scene; the Welsh FA has declared all matches in Wales off, including Cardiff City's home fixture against Watford. Furthermore, Plymouth Argyle's tie with Oxford United has been pushed back, reports the Mirror.
