Everton 0-0 Liverpool LIVE! Premier League match stream, latest score and goal updates today

Liverpool make the short trip across Stanley Park for the first Merseyside derby of the Premier League season at Goodison this afternoon. The Reds head into the 242nd edition of this famous old fixture on a high after Fabio Carvalho’s last-gasp winner sunk Newcastle in midweek, following on from a record-matching 9-0 drubbing of Bournemouth that was the perfect tonic after a disappointing defeat by rivals Manchester United.
Manchester City’s imperious form and Arsenal’s flying start means that Jurgen Klopp’s side can ill-afford many more slip-ups in the early title battle, while a win today would take them up into third. Darwin Nunez is back from suspension to lead the line, with Carvalho and Kostas Tsimikas also starting and new signing Arthur Melo on the bench.
Winless Everton languish just outside the relegation zone after three successive 1-1 draws and have won just one of the last 23 top-flight Merseyside derbies, while they have not beaten Liverpool at home in the league for 12 years. Frank Lampard hands Neal Maupay his Toffees debut. Follow Everton vs Liverpool LIVE with Standard Sport’s blog below!
42 mins: Liverpool hit the woodwork TWICE in a matter of moments!
First, it’s a world-class save from Pickford to tip Nunez’s powerful volley onto the frame of the goal after the Uruguayan chests down a long pass into the right channel and lets fly.
That’s the sort of service he needs.
But the danger is still not averted for Everton, with Diaz cutting inside and firing his own effort against the post.
Wow.
39 mins: Carvalho, who might have a dead leg, limps off before gingerly re-entering the fray.
He’ll have five minutes to prove his fitness or might be subbed at the break.
Another half-chance for Liverpool as Nunez gets high above Davies to meet Salah’s delivery, but his header is well off target.
37 mins: Referee Taylor has been content to keep his cards in his pocket despite plenty of little fouls in this feisty first half.
However, Everton’s Onana is now in the book for chopping down Carvalho, who stays on the floor in some discomfort.
He’ll require treatment. Not another injury blow for Liverpool.
34 mins: Liverpool have been very quiet but this is a better spell 10 minutes before the break, with an impressive defensive header from Coady under big pressure inside the six-yard box.
The unusually subdued Salah is trying to get more involved by peeling wide on that right flank.
31 mins: Everton hit the post!
They get multiple bites at the cherry after Liverpool can’t clear their lines following Gordon’s heavy challenge on Diaz on the edge of the Liverpool area.
It’s all frantic inside the box and Maupay is initially denied by Van Dijk before an inventive effort from Davies with the outside of his right boot smashes back off the woodwork.
What a finish that would have been.

29 mins: A long ball into the box from Everton is overhit before Elliott opts to try and release Alexander-Arnold down the right flank instead of finding Salah, with the offside flah then raised.
Chances at a premium as we approach the half-hour mark.
26 mins: Both sets of players need to calm down a little here, there are a lot of silly fouls being committed - including that one by Gordon on Tsimikas - that are ratcheting up the atmosphere and adding plenty of needle.
A Liverpool free-kick is whipped in and Diaz gets a little toe to it, but Pickford makes a comfortable save.
24 mins: A lot of small fouls disrupting the rhythm of this derby at the moment, including one from Tsimikas right in front of Klopp.
Gray and Gordon switch flanks for Everton, with the former brought down by Gomez as he races forward. It’s surely a free-kick, but the refere says no - much to the fury of the home fans.
The Toffees supporters are bang up for this, as you might expect, baying for every decision.
22 mins: Gray’s low corner is ushered away towards Diaz, with Gordon brilliantly maneuvering a sharp snapshot around the Colombian that is well held by Alisson.
