Emmerdale's Cain Dingle confronts Tom King in violet showdown as ...

Emmerdale has revealed the aftermath of Belle Dingle's (Eden Taylor-Draper) escape from her abusive husband Tom King (James Chase) after months of torment.

Cain (Jeff Hordley) and Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) were horrified as they arrived at Belle and Tom's holiday cottage in Wales, only to find it wrekced with bloodstains on the walls.

A flashback episode, which aired on Wednesday (July 24) night, revealed exactly what really happened during their getaway, with Tom making Belle's life a living hell.

From punishing their dog Piper to criticising Belle’s every move, Tom made it clear that they wouldn’t be returning to Emmerdale after he accepted a job at the local vets in the remote Welsh village.

A nervous Belle quizzed him but Tom resorted to violence. With Belle having had enough, she made a run for it, much to Tom’s shock, as she finally escaped the abuser.

A new teaser clip from Thursday’s (July 25) hour-long episode show Tom back in the holiday cottage, having been unsuccessful in finding Belle.

He's floored to find Cain and Charity at the cottage. Cain grabs Tom and pushes him against a wall, demanding to know where his little is and seemingly ready to carry out his deadly threat.

With Charity ready to check upstairs, Tom confirms she isn’t there. "She left me", he tells them. Then viewers will see Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) rushing downstairs at Wishing Well as Belle knocks on the front door clutching Piper.

A shaken and upset aBelle, who looks like she hasn’t slept, tells Lyida: "I had to get away. I just had to come home."
