Emmerdale fans have been hit with the heartbreaking news that a character has died.

In major spoilers from Tuesday’s drop on the ITVx, fans eager to discover the next phase of this week’s limo stunt know all the latest drama. It started with Cain being left in woodland after being beaten up by half-brother Caleb.

This came after the latter revealed all to shocked family members about Ruby sleeping with Cain. Confronting Ruby, Caleb said: “Who did you sleep with Ruby? What’s a matter? Cain got your tongue?”

While a teary Ruby replied: “I’m so sorry.” Later, Cain confessed to partner Moira about his tryst with Ruby.

The action, in Tuesday’s Emmerdale, saw the next phase of the plot for those characters trapped in the limo sinking into the frozen lake. Spoilers revealed Amy was rescued from ice cold waters.

Kerry then rescued a seriously injured Leyla from the limo before it collapsed into the water. Ambulances later arrived to take the villagers, in need of medical attention, to the hospital. Liam, Noah and the aforementioned Leyla appeared to be the most stricken.

The episode closed with a radio message from a paramedic. They said: “We have one patient dead on arrival.” Those Emmerdale fans who wanted to watch the episode early have taken to X with their reactions.
