The Masked Singer Otter unveiled as Daisy May Cooper as she
The Cotswolds comedian delighted judges, audience members and viewers at home as she was unmasked on the ITV show tonight

After plenty of speculation from fans and judges, Otter was finally unveiled as Daisy May Cooper on The Masked Singer tonight, February 4. The Gloucestershire comedian removed her furry headgear to reveal her true identity shortly after Knitting was unmasked to reveal Claire Richards from Steps.

Daisy had been a popular guess amongst fans for some time due to the clues in her VT, with a lot of clips shot at a water park. Daisy is from Cirencester, famed for its nearby waterpark and lakes, with one sign at the pool spelling out "RADA" - her alma mater.

Prior to her unmasking and raspy-voiced performance to OMI's Cheerleader, Otter teased fans and judges with more clues, leading to the judges to guess that the This Country star, 36, was behind the mask. Otter alluded to a few This Country references, including loving the mundane (Kerry and Kurtan live a very boring life in Northleach) and being "the captain" (Kerry is asked to be the captain by her dad when the pair are playing on the flight simulator in his caravan).

Following her hilarious performance, judges picked up on clues relating to cleaning, a double act and "don't laugh". Daisy and brother Charlie Cooper wrote This Country whilst working as cleaners, they are a bit of a double act, and Daisy has a book called "Don't Laugh, It'll Only Encourage Her".

The final clue from Otter was a screenshot of a text, which read along the lines of, "Hey bruv. Are we still on for the match on Saturday? Don't forget your kit."

Judge Mo Gilligan was quick to point out that Daisy once attended an awards ceremony in a football kit. In 2018, Daisy wore a Swindon Town football shirt dress to the Baftas, where she picked up awards for Best Scripted Comedy and Best Female Comedy Performance.

At the end of the show, Otter, Fawn and Knitting were left in the bottom three. Only one character could go through to the semi-finals, with the panel electing to save Fawn.

Knitting was unmasked as Claire from Steps, before it was Otter's turn to lift their semiaquatic mammal mask. With the judges and audience members chanting "take it off", Otter slowly removed their mask to reveal a breathless Daisy, much to the delight of the judges, with Davina and Rita declaring their love for the Gloucestershire comedian.

When Joel Dommett, who is from Rockhampton in South Gloucestershire, asked Daisy how she found starring in the show, the mum-of-two replied: "Oh, I've loved it.

"I mean, I'm exhausted and absolutely relieved but I loved every second of it. I did it for my daughter Pip who's a massive fan of the show... and I needed the cash."

The Masked Singer returns next Saturday, February 11, on ITV and ITVX at 7pm. Next week's episode will be the semi-finals, with Fawn, Jellyfish, Rhino, Jacket Potato and Phoenix set to take to the stage.
