Find out how you can watch the draw live, as well as who our opponents could be and how the format works

While we continue to bask in the glory of our Champions League round of 16 win over Porto, all Gooners’ thoughts will start to turn towards who we may face in the quarter-finals.

We have reached the last eight of Europe’s premier club competition for the first time since 2010, and a host of huge clubs from across the continent lie in wait for us next month.

Here is everything you need to know about the state of play in this year’s competition, and when we’ll discover who we’ll face next.

Which clubs are through?

So far, six of the eight teams have made it through to the quarter-finals, with two more ties to take place on Wednesday night to complete the full line-up.

Reigning holders Manchester City advanced thanks to a pair of 3-1 wins home and away against FC Copenhagen, while Kylian Mbappe scored three times over two legs to help Paris Saint-Germain progress at the expense of Real Sociedad.

Bayern Munich overturned a 1-0 loss in Rome to beat Lazio 3-0 at the Allianz Arena with Harry Kane netting twice, and their former striker Robert Lewandowski scored in both matches as Barcelona beat Napoli. A win in Leipzig and a draw at the Bernabeu was enough to see 15-time champions Real Madrid also book their spot.

Two ties remain in the balance going in Wednesday night - Inter Milan beat Atletico Madrid 1-0 before their trip to Spain, and a penalty from Luuk de Jong ensured our group opponents PSV Eindhoven clinched a home draw against Borussia Dortmund.

When is the quarter-final draw?

The draw will take place in Nyon, Switzerland on Friday, March 15 at 11am UK time. As well as the quarter-finals, the remainder of the competition will also be mapped out, including the semi-final and final draws, meaning we can work out which opponents we may face at each of those rounds should we continue to progress.

Who could we face?

The draw is an open one, meaning no seeding is taking place. Clubs from the same nation can play each other from this point, as well as those who faced off in the group stage. Basically, it is a completely open draw - we could face any one of the other seven qualifiers.

How does the draw work?

The eight teams will be placed into a pot, and the first one drawn will have home advantage in the first leg, with the second being their opponents and hosts of the second leg. That fixture is designated as ‘quarter-final 1’. The process is repeated until no teams remain.

For the semi-final draw, each of the designated quarter-final ties will be drawn against each other, with the first selection playing at home in the first leg. A draw for the final will then be completed to determine a 'home' team for administrative purposes.

How can I watch the draw?

The draw will be broadcast live in the UK on TNT Sports, and streamed on UEFA’s website.

When will the quarter-finals take place?

The first legs of the quarter-finals will be held on April 9 and 10, with the second legs to occur a week later on April 16 and 17.

For completion, the semi-final first legs will be on April 30 and May 1, with the return legs again happening a week later on May 7 and 8. The final will take place on June 1 at Wembley Stadium.
