53 mins: SAVE! Burnley have got off to a blistering start to this second half. The noise level inside of Turf Moor has ramped way up. Wout Weghorst is causing real problems for the Manchester United defence. He boots the ball into Jadon Sancho and chases down the deflection as the ball heads towards the visitors’ penalty area. The ball bounces up nicely and Weghorst drills a volleyed shot at goal and almost beats David De Gea who leaps to his right and tips the ball wide of the post!

50 mins: Manchester United have to step it up again now. Once again they’ve sacrificed a lead and find themselves in a contest. They win a free kick on the inside right deep in Burnley’s half. Fernandes flicks a teasing free kick into the six-yard pitch but none of his teammates can get there and the ball skips behind for a goal kick.

47 mins: What a start to the second half! Jadon Sancho brings the ball into the Burnley box and lays it off to Bruno Fernandes who loses the ball to a sliding Josh Brownhill. Burnley then burst forward on the counterattack and work the ball up to Wout Weghorst. Harry Maguire tries to tackle him but Weghorst spins away from the tackle and slides the ball into the box for Jay Rodriguez. He brings it towards David De Gea then slides it past the Manchester United goalkeeper to bring Burnley back level! Game on.

Kick off: In recent times Manchester United have tended to drift off in games especially when they’re in front. They looked good in the first half and should improve this scoreline if they keep up those standards.

Burnley restart the game and attack down the left side. Pieters knocks the ball into the box but it’s well defended by Luke Shaw.

Raphael Varane’s header was chalked off due to a foul from Harry Maguire. Paul Pogba then scored on his Premier League return before giving away a foul himself to rule out Ben Mee’s own goal.

The visitors have been the better, more dominant team but Burnley have shown a bit of promise and they’re not out of this game just yet. As so often is the case the next goal will be crucial. If Man Utd score it, they should go on to win the game. If it comes for Burnley, all three results are back on the table.

45 mins: Two minutes to be added on at the end of the first half. Manchester United in possession on the right side. Fernandes checks inside and is clipped by Pieters on the halfway line. The free kick is taken quickly with United looking to run the clock into the break.

42 mins: This is a nice spell from Burnely. They’re operating in and around the Manchester United penalty and getting the home fans excited. It’s fine build-up play but nothing of substance comes from it. The best move sees McNeil slide and pass into the right side of the area for Connor Roberts to collect. He cuts it back into the middle of the box but can’t pick out a teammate and United clear their lines.
