'We're sorry' - Barclays statement in full
In a statement posted on X, formerly Twitter, here's what Barclays had to say about the outage this morning:
"If you're having problems logging into Online Banking right now - we're sorry.
"We're working to fix this and will update you here as soon as possible.
"In the meantime, you can still use all of our other services, including your app as normal.
"For updates and to request a text when we're back up and running, search 'Barclays service status' online.
"Thanks for bearing with us."
'This doesn't look good'
One user has asked the company to clarify its position and provide an update after they were unable to access their account this morning.

Where are the worst affected areas?
According to a Downdetector map, below, the worst affected areas are London and Manchester, with users in Brighton also affected.
