Anton Du Beke recently became the latest star that was dragged into the Strictly Come Dancing row.

The BBC dance competition has come under scrutiny after Amanda Abbington claimed she suffered from mild PTSD after taking part with professional dancer Giovanni Pernice. She was joined by at least two other celebrities who had complaints about his strict style of training.

Last week, a second pro dancer, Graziano Di Prima, was sacked after bosses were made aware of a video in which he was seen kicking his former partner Zara McDermott. Not long after, a third star - who is no longer part of the show - was identified as a "person of interest".

Earlier today, Anton, 57, was named to lawyers by former partner Laila Rouass, who he was paired with in 2009 while still a pro dancer. Insiders confirmed their team have been considering making an official complaint focusing on the comment in which he told the star she looked like a "P**i" after a spray tan. He later apologised for the comment and she accepted his apology.

He previously made a comment about one of his other dance partners. In 2011, he was partnered with American lawyer and media personality Nancy Dell'Olio.

He once ranted about his celebrity partner and called her dancing 's***' during an appearance at a charity event in London called Newsroom's Got Talent. He was a judge at the event, which had newsreaders, singing and dancing to raise money for important charities.

Host Carol Vorderman asked Anton what his dance partner was 'really like' and he was quick to brand her as 's**t' before telling the audience that she 'never got that good'. The audience laughed at the comments but the professional dancer later told MailOnline that it was 'just a gag'.

"Nancy was just as lovely as Ann [Widdecombe]. The truth is, she was getting better and I think she was hard done by, by the judges," he said at the time. Meanwhile, after he called his former partner Laila a slur, he apologised for the comment and said "I am not a racist".

Anton said at the time: "I must say immediately and categorically that I am not a racist and that I do not use racist language. During the course of rehearsals Laila and I have exchanged a great deal of banter entirely in jest, and two weeks ago there was an occasion when this term was used between the two of us. There was no racist intent whatsoever but I accept that it is a term which causes offence and I regret my use of it, which was done without thought or consideration of how others would react. I apologise unreservedly for any offence my actions might have caused."
