Landon Donovan was on the call for France versus Austria during the continuation of the group stage at Euro 2024 on Monday, with his new haircut debuting in Germany. 

Throughout his playing career, Donovan always had a crew cut or an even buzz cut. 

Several years after his retirement, the disjointed hair style, leaving patches of his scalp exposed confused fans. 

Ian Darke, who called the game for Fox with Donovan, did not comment on his partner's hair or stare at it weirdly, questioning if it was truly camera-ready. 

Fans on social media could not stop wondering how Donovan's haircut was approved to be on camera.

'This gotta be the worst haircut I’ve ever seen,' one soccer fan said on social media. 

'You can tell Landon Donovan doesn’t have any friends, because no one told that you can’t go on tv with that haircut,' another person said on X. 

'At this point Landon Donovan should just go bald and let his beard grow,' a soccer fan stated.

Donovan last played in Major League Soccer in 2016, then continued with short stints with Leon and the San Diego Sockers indoor team. 

Donovan was seen as the most accomplished male soccer player in American history before Christian Pulisic came onto the scene. 

The former Los Angeles Galaxy captain played for the United States in three World Cups, with his 2014 exile being a defining moment at the end of his career.

Donovan is part of the Fox Sports crew for the entire Euro 2024 tournament, with him taking on an analyst and color commentator role. 

In his first game since debuting his new haircut, France defeated Austria 1-0. 

Donovan will surely call another game during the tournament soon, giving his new haircut a more time in the spotlight.
