What channel is France vs Poland Kickoff time TV and live stream details
France can take a step closer to retaining their World Cup crown by defeating European rivals Poland in their last 16 tie to progress to next week’s quarter-finals

France will take on Poland in their last 16 tie on Sunday as they aim to continue their charge towards a second successive World Cup triumph.

Les Bleus secured their place in the knockout stages with a game to spare following victories over Australia and Denmark, before topping Group D despite their shock 1-0 defeat to Tunisia. Now, they will be looking to dispatch Poland to progress to the quarter-finals.

Their Eagles are through to the last 16 for the first time since 1986 after finishing as runners-up in Group C on goal difference. A 0-0 draw with Mexico and a 2-0 defeat of Saudi Arabia was enough to see them through despite their 2-0 loss to Argentina on Tuesday.

When is France vs Poland?

France vs Poland will kick-off at 3pm (GMT) on Sunday, December 4 at the Al Thumama Stadium in Doha, Qatar.

This will be the 17th meeting between the two sides and their second in World Cup competition following Poland’s 3-2 victory in the third-place play-off in 1982.

However, their last clash came back in June 2011, as France claimed a narrow 1-0 victory over their hosts in Gdansk in an international friendly thanks to Tomasz Jodlowiec’s 14th minute own goal.

Team news

Having made nine changes for France’s 1-0 defeat against Tunisia on Wednesday, Didier Deschamps will be expected to do the same once more ahead of facing Poland in the last 16 as he returns to a full strength side as they aim to make it through to the quarter-finals.

That will mean returns for Hugo Lloris, Dayot Upamecano, Theo Hernandez, Adrien Rabiot, Ousmane Dembele, Antoine Griezmann, Kylian Mbappe and Olivier Giroud. However, Deschamps must decide between Benjamin Pavard and Jules Kounde at right back, along with which of Ibrahima Konate and Raphael Varane will partner Upamecano at centre back.

As for Poland, their stubborn defence did well in keeping two clean sheets in their first two group games but a worrying lack of attacking threat against Argentina has led many to doubt whether Czeslaw Michniewicz’s side have any chance of troubling France.

Arkadiusz Milik could be reintroduced in place of Karol Swiderski in order to partner Robert Lewandowski upfront, but it could be an otherwise unchanged lineup once more. That would see Piotr Zielinski and Grzegorz Krychowiak continue to be joined in midfield by Krystian Bielik and Przemyslaw Frankowski, while the back four will remain the same.
