In a shocking twist, Emmerdale aired the death of a teenage mother in a dramatic dream sequence. During Thursday's (September 5) special episode, viewers were presented with three different potential futures for Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper), Tom King (James Chase), and Amelia Spencer (Daisy Campbell).

In one scenario, Belle had successfully escaped from Tom and moved on with her life. She was back at work with Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough) at the Take A Vow wedding planning business, presenting a stark contrast to the downtrodden Belle viewers have become accustomed to.

Audiences are used to seeing Belle looking defeated and sad, wearing the same clothes day after day. However, in this version of the future, she was confident, happy, and dressed up for work.

One of the weddings Suzy was working on was between Belle's ex, Tom, and Amelia, causing Belle to worry for the bride-to-be.

Later scenes showed Belle encountering Amelia outside her house, noticing that Amelia had a burned hand similar to a previous injury Belle suffered when Tom discovered she was still taking birth control pills.

Despite Belle's attempts to offer support, Amelia, like Belle before her, refused to admit there was anything wrong in her marriage, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Later, viewers were shocked to see Amelia's lifeless body being removed from the house after an apparent "fall" down the stairs. This followed other potential scenarios where Belle stayed with Tom to protect Amelia, resulting in her becoming pregnant and enduring further violence, or where she revealed the truth only for Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) to be sentenced to life imprisonment for assaulting Tom.
