ITV Who Wants To A Millionaire fans rejoice as big change to show sees old feature return

Fans were ecstatic as a key feature returned to Who Wants To Be A Millionaire tonight (Friday, June 10). Host Jeremy Clarkson welcomed comedians Eddie Izzard and Omid Djalili to test their knowledge on the celebrity edition of the popular game show, as they both played to win money for the charity Unicef.

After a testing round of difficult questions, Eddie managed to walk away with an impressive £125,000 for the charity, after using up a few of his lifelines whilst viewers saw Omid win £16,000. There were four lifelines on offer for the celebrities today – 50/50, phone a friend, ask the audience and ask one person from audience.

In recent episodes of the show, Ask The Audience was axed due to Covid lockdown measures. Though many people may not have been expecting it, they were thrilled after noticing that the feature had been brought back moments into the show airing.

Taking to social media, one fan wrote: "For the first time in two years, the Ask The Audience lifeline is initiated. Audience, you're needed here", whilst another added: "Been a long two years for Who Wants To Be A Millionaire without Ask The Audience. A welcome return tonight of that lifeline (unless they get it wrong)."

A third chimed in: "The first use of Ask The Audience in over two years, and it was a successful one!" Another wrote: "Great to see the Ask The Audience lifeline back."

Jeremy Clarkson, 62, has been presenting ITV's Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? for two years after it was announced that the show was returning to our screens.
